With the increasing of metal working progress and the production musical instruments of metal it became feasible to create tubes of different dimensions and finishing. During the developing of brass instruments and the improvement of different natural scale sound producing the term of natural instruments appeared. Natural scale was the basic scale of those musical instruments because at that time people didn't invent valve mechanism yet. Brotherhoods of trumpeters appeared at those centuries. At that time 2 brotherhoods of trumpeters dwelled: martial trumpeters who played military hymns and chambers trumpeters that played in castles.

At the very beginning of the nineteenth century was created valve mechanism. It strictly changed the art of performance and heightened the ability of brass instruments. The point of that gear was in including the crown in the basic pipe. It changed the form of musical instruments and the pitch was lowered.
